Tracing My Family / Becoming a Citizen
I am looking to trace the family origin of my great grandfather William Leo Lawler who died circa 1897, at the age of 27, of a massive heart attack somewhere near Philadelphia Pennsylvania USA. From what I understand , and please correct me if I am wrong, the Lawler Clan, aka the Lawlor Clan, was originally from the province of Leinster, Ireland, and many of the Lawler’s resided in the County of Leix.

I am looking to complete the family origin at least as far back as I can. I am also looking to become a citizen of Ireland by virtue of decent and perhaps move back and retire if I were so fortunate. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards to all the Clan.
John F. Lawler

My family tree(or part of it)
I am writing to ask about my great grandfather, Thomas Lawlor(Born 1894-Died 1948). I don't know much more than that I'm afraid and was wondering how to find more(I can't ask my grandfather as he has passed) But this is really interesting to me. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Newsletter and saying hello
Just found this site and wanted to say hello to all. My father was William Lawler, his father was Daniel Lawler and as far as I can trace back, we come from the Kilkenny area. I'm still working on it. My father didn't know much about his heritage as we he was raised in foster care. I'm always hopeful that I will stumble upon a gold mine of information, though. Merry Christmas to all. Jeannie

Tracing my roots.
I am writing in regard to my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Katherine Lawlor (born about 1874? and died in 1974) and her sister Mary Lawlor (born about 1871 and died in 1949). Their parents were John Lawlor and Hestor Boyle Lawlor (dates I've found for a Hester Boyle, not sure if she is ours or not are 1830 to 1878 in Mountmellick). We believe that they grew up in or near Cobh (Queenstown) in county Laois and went to New York in the late 1880s early 1890s, but we are not sure... I am trying to trace family (brothers, sisters, grandparents, etc.), but am not having much luck. Any information or guidance would be much appreciated.

Thank you for reading,

Laura Jones
